Call Tracking and CRM Integrations for Contractors
Call tracking and CRM integration show which marketing makes your phone ring and which calls turn into paid jobs. DG Agency sets up CallRail with a number for each source, then plugs your marketing into the CRM you already run, like ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro or JobNimbus, and matches every lead to the job it became.

Is call tracking worth it for a contractor?
Yes, because it ends arguments about lead counts. First Choice Flooring in Murrieta, CA runs its own CallRail account with one number per source. In its first 13 days on Google Local Services Ads, from September 18 to 30, 2026, their CallRail logged 32 callers and 2 messages. That matched Google's count of 34 leads exactly.
That one check settled the question every owner asks about LSA: is Google counting real calls? When two separate systems agree lead for lead, you can stop arguing about the count and start working on how many of those calls turn into jobs.

How do I know which marketing turns into jobs?
Match every lead's phone number to your invoices. For Kinetic Electric in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, we matched September 2026 Google LSA and Yelp leads to the jobs in their CRM, Field Pulse. That showed $33,265 invoiced across 8 jobs, including a $23,000 commercial job from one LSA call.
Lead counts would have told a different story. Google charged Kinetic for 5 LSA leads that month, which looks small on a report. One of those calls became a $23,000 job. You only see that when the CRM and the lead list are matched.
It also shows where the system leaks. 4 of Kinetic's 27 September jobs had no lead source in the CRM, so nobody can say which channel earned them. The fix is boring and it works: a source picklist on every new customer, filled in by the office every time.

What does a CallRail setup include?
A number for every source, recordings, rules that sort real calls from junk, and qualified calls sent back to your ads. Your real number stays on your Google Business Profile and directories. Tracking numbers only show on ads and through the website swap. Nothing counts as done until we've placed a test call on every page.
- A small pool of numbers that swap on your website for visitors from Google Ads and Facebook ads, and a fixed number for each truck wrap, yard sign or mailer.
- Your real number left in place on your Google Business Profile, Yelp, directories and in the site's code, so your name, address and phone stay consistent everywhere.
- Call recording with the disclosure greeting. California requires consent from both sides of the call.
- Rules that tag first-time callers who stay on 60 seconds or more as qualified, tag repeat callers as existing customers, and tag spam as junk.
- Qualified calls sent to Google Ads as conversions, so the ads learn from real calls instead of clicks.
- A weekly listen to a few random calls to make sure the tags are right.
Does call tracking hurt my Google rankings?
Not when it's set up right. The damage comes from a tracking number showing up as your main number on Google or a directory, which splits your name, address and phone across the web. We keep your real number everywhere you're listed and only swap numbers on your website for ad visitors and on the ads themselves.
How many of my calls go unanswered?
More than most owners think, and call tracking is how you find out. Across 7 contractors' Google LSA accounts, 75% of phone leads from November 2025 to October 16, 2026 were answered for 30 seconds or more. On weekends it was 46.3%. Answered calls were marked booked 30.5% of the time. Unanswered calls, 7.7%.
Short calls are their own warning sign. 16.3% of the calls with a recorded length lasted under 30 seconds, which usually means voicemail, a hang-up or a wrong number. The median call ran 127 seconds. If your tracking shows a lot of short calls from one source, listen to them before you spend more there.
The fix is not more marketing. It's a missed-call text back and a call routing plan inside the CRM you already run. That's what we set up for speed to lead.

Does call tracking get my bad LSA leads credited back?
It helps you spot them, but expect small numbers. Some guides say contractors recover 15 to 25% of LSA charges. In our 7 accounts, Google credited 34 of 1,238 charged leads, 2.7%, from August 2025 to October 2026. We still rate every lead weekly so Google credits the junk, but answering calls is worth far more.

What's the best CRM for contractors?
The one your office will actually keep up to date. ServiceTitan suits bigger shops with dispatch and memberships, Housecall Pro and Jobber suit smaller service teams, and JobNimbus is popular with roofers. We don't sell or build CRMs. We plug your marketing into the one you run and make sure every new customer gets a lead source.
If you're shopping for a CRM, pick it for the office and the field first. Marketing reporting can be bolted onto any of them, as long as each job has the customer's phone number, a lead source and an invoice amount.
Which CRMs can my marketing plug into?
The one you already run. We've connected ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro and JobNimbus for contractors we work with, and we work from exports for the rest. The goal is the same in each: every lead lands in your CRM with its source, and booked jobs and invoice totals come back out for reporting.
We don't build your CRM or change how your office runs it. We plug into it. Here's what each connection does, limited to what the vendors themselves confirm.
ServiceTitan
CallRail's ServiceTitan integration puts CallRail leads and the call log inside ServiceTitan and ties sources and keywords to jobs and revenue.
ServiceTitan's own Google Ads integration goes a step further. When a caller reaches a ServiceTitan call tracking number, it stores the Google click, links it to the lead, and sends the revenue to Google Ads once the job is completed. That needs ServiceTitan's Google Ads, Google Analytics and dynamic call tracking pieces turned on. Your ServiceTitan admin switches it on, and we set up the conversion actions in Google Ads.
One rule we hold to: don't run ServiceTitan's call tracking and CallRail's number swap on the same site. Pick one.
Housecall Pro
CallRail's Housecall Pro integration pops up the Housecall Pro customer when a call comes in, through a Chrome extension, and tags new jobs with the CallRail source.
We also set up the lead source picklist in Housecall Pro so the office picks a source on every new customer. Each week we match the job export (phone, date, job total, source) against the lead list, so the monthly report shows booked jobs and dollars by channel.
JobNimbus
CallRail's JobNimbus integration, first released in June 2026, creates or updates a JobNimbus contact for every call, text and form. It logs a note on the contact with the source, medium, campaign and landing page.
JobNimbus doesn't send job values back through that integration, so we match sold jobs from your JobNimbus export to the lead list each week. That's how a roofer sees which channel sold the roof, not just which one made the phone ring.
Jobber, Field Pulse and other CRMs
If you run Jobber, CallRail links calls to Jobber clients by phone number and keeps contacts in sync both ways. We match jobs from your Jobber export the same way.
For Field Pulse and anything else, we work from your job export. That's how the Kinetic Electric numbers were built.
Can I put a tracking number on my Google LSA ad?
No, and you don't need one. Google Local Services Ads use Google's own forwarding number and lead inbox, which already records each call. We pull those leads from Google's API and match them to your CRM by phone number, so LSA sits in the same report as every other channel.
LSA is also where answering the phone matters most. See what our data shows on speed to lead for contractors, and how we run Local Services Ads management.
Questions owners ask us
What is call tracking for contractors?
Call tracking gives each marketing source its own phone number, so you can see which one made the phone ring. Your website shows a tracking number to ad visitors, your truck wrap gets its own number, and every call is recorded and tagged. The point is to judge marketing on calls and booked jobs, not clicks.
Do you set up or run our CRM?
No. Your CRM stays yours and your office keeps running it the way they do now. We plug your marketing into it: leads arrive with their source attached, and booked jobs and invoice totals come back out so we can report revenue by channel. If you want a CRM built or rebuilt, that's a separate project.
Which CRMs do you work with?
We've connected ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro and JobNimbus for contractors we work with. CallRail also links calls to Jobber clients by phone number. For anything else, including Field Pulse, we work from your job export. If it can export jobs with the customer's phone number and the job amount, we can match it.
Do I need CallRail if I only run Google LSA?
Usually not. Local Services Ads use Google's own number and lead inbox, which already logs every call. Google Ads also has free call reporting. CallRail earns its cost once you run several channels, like Google Ads, your website, Facebook and print, and want recordings, form tracking and one report across all of them.
How much does CallRail cost per month?
Published October 2026 pricing put CallRail at $55 to $215 a month depending on the plan, and CallTrackingMetrics from $39 a month. Extra numbers and minutes add to that. The account is yours and billed to you. Our setup and management are part of the monthly retainer, not a markup on the software.
What is the best call tracking software for contractors?
For most contractors, CallRail, because it is easy for an office to use and connects to Google Ads, Google Analytics and the common trade CRMs. CallTrackingMetrics is a fine alternative. The software matters less than the setup: real number on your listings, a number per source, recordings and a lead source on every job.
What is dynamic number insertion?
It is the website swap. When someone lands on your site from a Google ad or a Facebook ad, the phone number on the page changes to a tracking number tied to that visit. Visitors from your Google profile or a direct visit see your real number. That is how one website tells you which ad made the phone ring.
Can booked jobs be sent back to Google Ads?
Yes, with the right setup. ServiceTitan's own Google Ads integration sends revenue to Google Ads after a job is completed. With other CRMs we match booked jobs to the original click and upload them to Google Ads on a schedule. Either way, your ads start learning from paid jobs instead of form fills.
